Well, it’s almost like Christmas morning! Waaaait, it’s even better than Christmas morning! I received a call from UW today to schedule my ONE YEAR POST TRANSPLANT follow-up for November! One year!
My usually stoic Transplant Coordinator was emotional while we were talking – she shared that I arrived at UW at the end of October actively dying and now I am their ROCKSTAR transplant patient.
That’s RIGHT, I sure diggty-darned-danged am! I was sharing with Katie today that I have overcome so much in the last nearly 9 months, I’ve overcome death, anxiety of losing my hair, HYPER anxiety of driving again. I’ve learned to walk again, develop fine and gross motor skills and relearn a lot of what you would think would be basic daily routines.
This was not easy, not easy at all but surviving death, becoming a baddie and living my life made ALL of the trials, road bumps and issues that went upside down, so incredibly worth it!
Merry Christmas in July!
